Discussion What pairings upset you the most?

I'm not talking usefulness or anything gameplay-wise, just what Trainer do you wish would have gotten a different Pokemon?

For me, Giovanni & Nidorino for his Lodge pair was so disappointing. He could have had Nidoqueen, Dugtrio, Honchkrow, or Kangaskhan. But no, he got a pre-evolution of a Pokemon he already had. It especially gets me because Nidorino should have gone to Oak as a Lodge/BP/Variety pair. I know this doesn't stop Oak from ever getting it but I do think it lessens the odds or at the very least delays it.

There's a lot of other weird choices to me, but that's definitely the one that I would change it I could. What pairings upset you guys the most, or would you change if you could change one pairing?

Discussion This anni marked a turning point for the game

This game has been generous for a gacha. It had a rough start, then picked up and became pretty solid from a summoning aspect and economy. It was very f2p friendly and there was very little content that encouraged spending for many dupes.

Fast forward, we get introduced to pokefairs, seasonals, variety and masterfairs. Many different types of limited banners. Nothing wrong with it. Makes sense. Seemed fair enough.

After that, however, we saw it take over an entire year and half for a masterfair to return. Now, that’s very unfortunate but still sorta reasonable considering the strength of the units. The problems started soon after though.

  1. Number of limited banners continued to increase with long intervals until re-runs.

  2. Old units (1 year+) continued to be run on their own separate banners instead of being added to a generic limited pool to be run on the latest banner

  3. The economy was shrinking.

We started off with events giving us full move candies. Then they diluted it to candy coins. As more banners started releasing simultaneously, our gem counts stayed static. Now, i know we’re not supposed to be able to pull every unit for free, but when they are releasing 3-5 units a month, it should be reasonable to pity one of those units.

This brings us to this anni where it just went full blown fucked. Not only did they release even MORE limited banners in one month than ever, they completely fucked the economy. Gem count shrank. New roles were created to dilute the move coin pool. New ex roles were created which dilutes the reward pool even further. So now not only is it exponentially more difficult to pull new units, we can’t even reasonably accumulate move candies like before to upgrade units in an era where roster size is more important than ever with things like high score event and LG.

Dena is straight up milking at this point with no change in sight and it sucks.

Discussion So who do you think is getting paired with Arceus? Seems not Rei.

Post image

Since Volo made it obvious that he and Rei were both not chosen by Arceus, does that mean we are not getting Arceus+Rei/Volo pair? I thought Rei is the best choice?

Who else do you think is getting paired with Arceus if not Rei? MC? Or no one is getting Arceus?

Discussion The Red bias needs to stop in the Tier List

Most people already know SSRed as a unit is quite good, but certainly outdated by modern strike* (you know who you are "striker" police) standards, yet, the Tier List still depicts it as basically a top tier unit, among other units like Rose or Eusine. Furthermore, he is almost one and a half whole tiers above units that are arguibly better than him at the fire striker role such as Leon, and keeps being promoted constantly but the minimalist reasons, so we have to talk about these reasons.

  • CLeaf is the perfect partner for him.

There are a lot of problems with this. First of all, CLeaf is so broken, she can clear content by herself. SSRed is not a partner for her, she is carrying him. Second, SSRed's performance without her is way worse than most of the strikers in the same tier. And third, most units in general benefits from CLeaf, not just SSRed, yet almost no other unit got promoted with her support, including other fire damage dealers, even from Kanto (Blaine or Event Blue barely move or didn't move at all, just SSRed)

  • He got a great 5/5 grid expansion

Now, his grid expansion is decent. Soften Up guarantees sync crits, TM Propulsion 9 allows for ramping purposes, and Standfast 9 at least makes Flare Blitz a viable move without sacrificing a lot in the grid. This is fine, but is nothing groundbreaking, especially compared to other units in the same tier, or some of them even lower than him.

  • Chase is a apparently a strong enough buff to SSRed, and just SSRed

This is even more insulting than the CLeaf. You can make better arguments for units like Ash than SSRed for this, but of course, Ash couldn't move higher because apparently CRed gets the better buff. Outside of that, any special damage dealer from Kanto benefits from Chase in terms of damage, yet NO OTHER special damage dealer from Kanto moved up. Surge? No, EBlue? No, OG Blue? No, Giovanni who is probably the Special Kantonian Damage Dealer that benefits the most from Chase supportive options because he lacks spatk buffs and has a spdef debuff multiplier? No, just SSRed.

Now some comparisons with other units:

He is significantly worse than many units in his tier or below him

  • Emma provides reliable poison, debuffs, healing and better ramping capabilities
  • Palmer provides Normal Zone, MAX Move, reliable self healing and debuff inmunities, maximizes def debuffs and ramping capabilities.
  • Lance has potions. That's it, but at least he only requires 1 turn of setup
  • Eusine has Disarm one of the strongest passives in challenging game (offensive debuffs), Trap and Ice Type Coverage
  • SSLusamine has Support EX Role. This is a massive advantage, not only makes her quite bulky for a striker, it removes the penalization of sync transformation (having to sync instead of your EX Support). Master Passive
  • Rose has triple type coverage, AoE MAX Move, gaugeless, semireliable flincher, Damage Field
  • SSCynthia has paralysis, is gaugeless and can complement partial buffs on sync
  • SLiza has the PMUN stacking and a Damage Guard + Self Def buffs are decent bulk for a striker
  • NYLisia has 3 guaranteed def debuffs and....that's it? Honestly she is the closest to SSRed in that tier
  • PCandice is a realible flincher with 2 guaranteed flinchers, has potions, guaranteed def debuffs, vigilance for longer battles and Tech EX Role

They even demoted Lear and Lucas BEFORE SSRed, 2 units that are way more self sufficient and offers better complementary tools to their best teams than SSRed does to his best team.

Like, almost everyone in his tier offers a lot more to the team with similar or superior damage outputs, with Red's main strength points are ramping and physical/special split damage, and this does not end here, even units in tiers below like Victor or N offers more to the team than just damage. But this does NOT end here yet...

  • Leon vs SSRed

This is probably the biggest example of favoritism in recent times. Even from the beginning Leon and SSRed were pretty similar damage dealers with piercing gaze and ramping capabilities, with red having a more consistent setup and Leon having the MF passive, guaranteed burn, semi reliable interference (confusion) and type coverage. They were very close to never warrant such a massive difference as nowadays. But while SSRed got a decent grid expansion, Leon got a MAX Move that works as a second nuke-like attack and can counter some field gimmicks, and the much bigger buff: Support EX Role. Leon can sync while getting an extra sync buff compared to Red, who has to sync to get megaevolution. This is HUGE in terms of damage because if Red sacrifices not syncing to kept the pace at +2 sync buffs, he ends with less attack using a move with less BP than Inferno, not even accounting the fact that Leon's sync does not have the Mega penalty and the MF passive adding even more damage and bulk, who is also added on top of the defensive stats from EX Role.

Ultimately Leon is in modern times a more reliable damage dealer than SSRed, with better damage, better bulk and better complementary utilities, and yet....

Yikes

Hopefully more people discuss interested in the topic discuss this because this is getting ridiculous at this point.

Discussion Wanted Eusine and Suicide, Got this guy instead...

Post image
181 Upvotes

( Sorry if this is a low effort post, I have trouble speaking English+ also I'm new to Reddit )

For context I'm a F2P player, and I usually expect to pull the unit I want in 3k gems only, Usually I collect 3k and pull...

Was hoping for Eusine/Suicune but got him instead...

Will like some tips on how to make good use of him since I was low on Ice type units anyways... His moveset seems pretty Limited to me... Also he is Tech and not a striker..

To anyone who already got him and used him, anything I need to know??

Also what are the chances to pull Eusine /Suicune (1/5 is fine) ? Like how many 3k gems pull will it take?
