Not one of those looks like a full meal.

u/KneeDragr 14d ago

Looks disgusting too. I wouldn’t eat that shit.

Did OP remove most of the food and then take this picture for karma?

Because I've never been to a Chipotle that had bowls this empty.

115

u/mj561256 14d ago

This was my initial thought but recently I've seen lots of TikToks that have the person literally recording the guy making the food and they end up this amount of full, it's apparently been a massive deal lately

u/ShowMeYourMinerals 14d ago

I propose we all get stoned, get on YouTube, and learn how to cook.

It’s not hard to get some meat, rice, beans, and some veggies.

We can do this America, we can make our own shitty food from our homes!

5

u/Open_Bug_4251 14d ago

I read this and immediately thought of Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead and stoned Kenny watching Julia Child and learning how to make Belgian waffles.

9

u/TigerlilyBlanche 14d ago

See we make chicken and fries at home because basics, and we poor. Unfortunately, getting ingredients isn't exactly cheap anymore.

3

u/Seanpawn 14d ago

Used to be cooking was far more cost effective than nearly any restaurant that wasn't McDonald's or Taco Bell, now it's...iffy. Usually if you make about 4 portions you can break even. Forget it if you live alone, though.

Been making my own chipotle bowls and cheeseburgers for a long while now. McDonald’s lost me forever when they charged me $8 for my usual two McDoubles and a large drink. Used to be $4 and change.

I would love to, but then I need to do dishes, and my carpel tunnel syndrome is extremely painful :(… I can’t even open a door anymore…

10

u/mj561256 14d ago

This is kinda a testament to what the takeout accessibility increase should've been about though - Making food available to people who can't cook themselves

But once again the drive for profit ruins things for disabled people as is always the case

4

u/Lilytheriel 14d ago

I never thought I’d be disabled, but it’s hard to enjoy life anymore… haha :( I’m just uhh… I’m not doing so hot haha… :( thanks for having my back, you’re a nice person :’)

4

u/Xavius20 14d ago

I know the feeling. Different disability but it makes basic household chores difficult, cooking and cleaning being the big ones. I mostly survive on microwave meals

Everything always depends on location. The Chipotle near my work crams the bowls so much they can barely seal the lid.

I got served a bowl like this a couple of weeks ago. Managers trying to keep food costs down, I assume

u/Flashy-Focus-2426 14d ago

Every time I would order online, they would give me bowls worse than these. One time I added extra everything including extra chicken and guess what, they didn't give me any chicken, no beans, just a bit of rice and a few vegetables. Every time I got my money back and at some point I just stopped ordering from them.

9

u/meduhsin 14d ago

Doubt it, it would be hard to keep the cheese and sr cream on top of that were the case.

I’ve heard this happening a lot with doordash. I can only assume it’s because

1) the paying customer isn’t there to complain, and many won’t go through the hassle of getting it fixed or replaced, and

2) if it’s close to closing time, the employees might give you less portions so that they don’t have to make more food

3

u/Did_IDo_That 14d ago

I’ve had similar experiences with Doordash orders. Having worked in the restaurant industry during a challenging time in my life, I try to be understanding. However, my patience wears thin when the same issues keep happening at the same restaurant. My initial reaction is to complain to the restaurant. Once, while waiting for my corrected order, I had a conversation with the manager, who suggested that for future issues, I should complain directly to Doordash since they handle refunds and some corrections. I understood his point; I could have complained to both Doordash and the restaurant and potentially received double compensation. In this specific instance, I discovered that Doordash hadn’t communicated my order details properly to the restaurant. They didn’t mention that I didn’t want bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, or bell peppers in my chicken panang, even though these ingredients are standard in the dish. Usually, I pick them out and move on, but after this happened several times, I decided to speak up. Apparently, I ordered electronically through Doordash, and then they call the restaurant to place the final order over the phone. This is how orders are handled at small mom-and-pop restaurants. Stuff gets lost the process.

No these bowls have not been touched by us. They're as we got them.

2

u/ashleyorelse 13d ago

Were you there when they made them? If so, why not just ask for more of whatever was short?

→ More replies (1)

6

u/trisanachandler 14d ago

You can tell they didn't because the bottoms/sides are clean.

4

u/Shot_Refrigerator869 14d ago

3

u/Agentofchaos2712 14d ago

They literally gave me a taco that was 2/3 empty and when I said something they said that's the amount we are supposed to give. If you've gotten more you've been given too much. Well that's the last time I'll be eating at chipotle.

Just go to a real Mexican place, they fill up the plates

54

u/jld420 14d ago

And usually for a fraction of the cost

24

u/CowboyAirman 14d ago

Looks like they’re in England, so likely not a lot of solid options.

1

u/mj561256 14d ago

Idk about where they are but at least in my area there's plenty of Mexican options

One near me even offers bowls like this for £8 each that seems to be similar/slightly bigger in portion size than the OP image

Ik some people don't necessarily consider this Mexican but Taco Bell here does some solid deals on the delivery apps too, much cheaper than going in person especially with a big order

2

u/postvolta 13d ago

I've not found a proper Mexican place here, not in the same way we have proper Indians/Chinese/Thai etc.

Like sure there's a burrito place or a taco place, but I want a proper Mexican place. I don't even mind if they're Anglicised like the Indians we have, but they're usually just kinda bland.

Best Mexican place I ever ate at was a place in Sedona, Arizona.

Never order online for chipotle. You get so so much more food when you are there and it will be more consistently right

35

u/John271095 14d ago

Bunch of their locations around my area became online only.

31

u/greedylime 14d ago

??? You literally can't walk in and order?

24

u/John271095 14d ago

Nope. There’s a sign that says you have to download their app and order from there.

56

u/greedylime 14d ago

Maybe it's just me getting older (44), but fuck that.

8

u/ShadeColdfang 14d ago

in my town we have multiple Pizza shops... one is/was online only.
This shop closed quicker than it opened.
i rather go into it and order my Pizza that way and walk back home.
at least i then can sit outside and enjoy my pizza that way or back home.
so yea i feel you

2

u/AppUnwrapper1 14d ago

I walked into a Starbucks the other day and it had no cash register. It was pick-up orders only. Thankfully I just wanted water and they gave it to me.

6

u/Fatticusss 14d ago

Yeah you can badger them to add more. As long as it’s not extra meat or Guacamole they will usually oblige without extra cost

4

u/oojiflip 14d ago

Plus you can walk out when they underload the fillings

2

u/CallMeDucc 14d ago

i place an online order roughly 20 minutes after they open for that reason. every time i order that way its actually better than walking in at my location

2

u/hairyreptile 14d ago

Or just don’t go

27

u/Fatticusss 14d ago

Every industry

9

u/Double_Bass6957 14d ago

Thats fair as well. No way I should asked about a tip at a dentist office

6

u/scammersarecunts 14d ago

Where I live burger king is actually fairly decent. It's a noticeable step above McDonald's while still being less good than a proper burger restaurant. But it's only like 1-3€/order more expensive than McDonald's from my experience.

3

u/LeoDiCatmeow 14d ago

That's insulting to McDonald's tbh. Chipotle is fucking garbage and pretends to be healthy

2

u/Valturia 14d ago

McDonald's is at least consistent, with portion size at chipotle is a hit or miss

I’m surprised to see all of the chipotle hate here. Every time I’ve been it’s been solid. I guess I’m just lucky enough to have a good store where I live

7

u/Ducky237 14d ago

Yeah, Chipotle is the most varied by location out of all fast food chains in my experience. Some are great, some are food poisoning lol

Hahahahahahahahah bro for 50 I could have cooked a meal for a king

11

u/PaleoJoe86 14d ago

I been to multiple Chipotles. They stuff my burrito or bowl every time.

29

u/Lordeverfall 14d ago

I mean, it's Chipotle, the same place that spreads salmonella. You basically went to the panera bread of Taco Bell.

Mine never looks like this

3

u/Lifesalchemy 14d ago

Never understood the allure of that fake, corporate, Mexican slop.

9

u/Ettubrute82 14d ago

They give you nothing and charge you a ton of $. It’s ridiculous.

4

u/Fusciee 14d ago

I never have this issue when I go in to order…

6

u/1800THEBEES 14d ago

My town just got a chipotle and I only ever have ordered online. Perfect every time so far 😳

2

u/DnDYetti 14d ago

Did you order these online/through a delivery app?

2

u/TobysGrundlee 14d ago

And I'm sure you'll stop buying food there because of it right? Right!?

→ More replies (1)

2

u/TiredReader87 14d ago

Looks like vomit

2

u/ShadeColdfang 14d ago

50 bucks for that? and its not even what u ordered?
This doesnt even look close that what u can make yourself for 50 bucks.
all the 4 trays are enough for 1 or 2 people.
This is one of the reasons why i gladly sit hours in my kitchen to make myself awesome food

3

u/luke_ubiquitous 14d ago

It's worse! That's £50 Pounds Sterling, so like $63 USD. It's laughable.

2

u/HooninAround 14d ago

Looks like pig slop

2

u/Fusciee 14d ago

You ordered delivery didn’t you… never do that.

2

u/birigogos 14d ago

Is it taken out of a restaurant's trash can?

2

u/SimpleKnowledge4840 14d ago

Honestly, we stopped getting takeout. Family of 4, over $100 when we do. Plus tip. And the quality of food sucks lately.

2

u/moredrinksplease 14d ago

I mean I didn’t know chipotle had made it to UK but god damn that looks terrible compared to what the chipotles are serving here in Los Angeles.

2

u/JasonIsFishing 14d ago

You could have made some authentic Mexican recipes for WAY less and had leftovers.

2

u/LeoDiCatmeow 14d ago

Chipotle is shitty and everyone has known this since 2015 when they had their crazy ecoli outbreak. I did doordash for a bit for extra money and I picked up chipotle every time I delivered, it always was lukewarm even though I'd pick it up within minutes. Why anyone wastes money on such a notoriously shit fastfood place is beyond me. Literally you could spend the same amount and have the same meal 3x by just getting the ingredients throwing it all in a bowl and microwaving it for 30 seconds so it's all the same nasty temp, just like at the restaurant

2

u/Un111KnoWn 14d ago

GET A REFUND. ALSO ONLINE ORDERS ARE ALWAYS ASS

2

u/Mean_Rule9823 14d ago

pepridge farms remembers.....

2

u/Big_Ben4661 14d ago

So glad I haven't been to Chipotle in like 7 years. They keep rationing their food and being stingy they deserve to go out of business.

2

u/Silent-Justice 14d ago

Chi-nope-lay

2

u/NotAllHerosEatCreps 14d ago

This looks like it was taken out the bin

2

u/EnvironmentalBear378 14d ago

I have a feeling you ordered before they closed.

2

u/clickedbunion2 13d ago

The fact that I thought this was half eaten says alot lmao

2

u/Alone_Inspector_7567 13d ago

Why do yall continue spending your money at these god awful restaurants? Panera and Chipotle are trash

3

u/aSituationTypeDeal 14d ago

Chipotle is just cold slop

→ More replies (1)

5

u/RemarkablePattern127 14d ago

And I bet you will still go back next week and give them another 50 bucks!

1

u/MakeMeDrink 14d ago

I wish I had gone to chipotle before it turned to shit

2

u/New_Chard9548 14d ago

I've never been to one & it seems like maybe I should keep it that way lol

1

u/trogdortheburninato 14d ago

Looks about right

1

u/Pirate_Underpants 14d ago

If delivered, alf of that would cost 50 in Aus

1

u/HORSH_ASSAULT92 14d ago

Never eaten at Chipotle in my life and never will.

1

u/Under_Ach1ever 14d ago

"worth"... I dunno about that.

1

u/Yommination 14d ago

Chipotle is the bottom of the barrel in my book. Even below Taco Bell

1

u/Teethofthedog 14d ago

Someone was high out of their mind behind the counter

1

u/Imhungorny 14d ago

Go somewhere else?

1

u/Fair_Comparison_2324 14d ago

Yeah I feel this is an ad for people to start cooking at home instead of relying on shitty American fast food chains

1

u/UThoughtTheyBannedMe 14d ago

4 to go plates, 2024 and you're surprised?

1

u/SuperMomn 14d ago

I thought these were half eaten leftovers 😳

1

u/Namesthatareused 14d ago

That’s all less than $15 at the store

1

u/Tbkgs 14d ago

Stop going to Chipotle.

1

u/Ok-Negotiation-3892 14d ago

Last time you go, maybe.

1

u/NiciNira 14d ago

For a second I thought this was a post with a very bad kinderegg recipe.

1

u/keajohns 14d ago

Unless you order online, they literally make it in front of you. If they skimp, ask them to add more. If they refuse, leave.

1

u/EuphoricMaz 14d ago

I feel like a lot of the time they do this because they think you'll just shut up and eat it. First time they skimped me like this, I took the food back to the restaurant and got a full refund. Chipotle isn't cheap😭

1

u/Chance_Difference_34 14d ago

All imma say is the chipotle drama isn't new, so what did you expect??? I stopped going there because of this crap.

1

u/BardofVerona 14d ago

Absolutely not. I’d hand it back to them and leave.

1

u/ImpressiveWealth1138 14d ago

I have been saying Chipotle is trash for years 😂

1

u/Misery098 14d ago

I spent 27 dollars on 2 chicken burritos with guacamole. I don’t know why I thought going back would be a good idea

1

u/AppUnwrapper1 14d ago

I ate at chipotle once in my life and was so unimpressed. The meal was like 90% rice. I don’t understand why people buy from there.

1

u/bearpics16 14d ago

Chipotle used to be my all time favorite restaurant. I ate there an insane number of times and get the exact same steak burrito every time. The steak quality used to be soooo good. It was cooked perfectly medium every time. It’s been a long time since I’ve had quality steak from them. It’s all over cooked and low quality beef. About 1/3 of the pieces are gristle

1

u/ApolloMac 14d ago

I have my problems with Chipotle. They screw up my order constantly. Like literally every damn time. But.. the bowls are full. Just full with the wrong stuff.

1

u/tjk91 14d ago

Dude chipotle has been getting bad about this. I've never done a delivery service but every time I go which is one every other month I have to constantly tell them to add a little more. Like bro the bottom isnt even half way covered by the rice. Slowly eating there less. I miss qudoba.

1

u/ProKnifeCatcher 14d ago

No wonder profit margins are so high

1

u/Massive_Economy_3310 14d ago

First thought was why are you wasting all that food if you spent so much. Then I realized you haven't ate any of the food yet. It is being served like a dirty dish .

1

u/biloxibluess 14d ago

I’m from Denver proper

The OG Chipotle was in a tiny old Dolly Maddison ice cream parlor next to The University Of Denver on Evans Ave

25 years ago it was THE goto for Mission style burritos and tacos and it was dirt cheap for massive portions

They were always known for consistency and quality across the state at all locations

They got bought by McDonald’s

That’s the rest of the story

1

u/redrover2023 14d ago

If we all boycotted for 1 week. Enough for them to notice, you'll see changes.

1

u/Sorri_eh 14d ago

Nando's is better food

1

u/wawaboy 14d ago

Never had Chipotle

1

u/JK_NC 14d ago

How much of that 50 was delivery fee or tip?

1

u/OnlyBringinGoodVibes 14d ago

It's whack because I've always loved chipotle. These days they are just getting so stingy and shitty I'm over it

1

u/josh35767 14d ago

It’s a shame. Chipotle use to be pretty great, and then they just went down hill so fast.

1

u/orangutanDOTorg 14d ago

But the diarrhea is priceless

1

u/balanced_crazy 14d ago

every online order is an opportunity for the restaurant to steal from you... I stopped ordering online from fast food joints..

1

u/randomdud500 14d ago

Keep boycotting Chipotle

1

u/No_Bottle_8910 14d ago

The Chipotle in my town lasted about 2 years.... now there is a real taco shop in there.

1

u/letsfastescape 14d ago

Next time buy everything from the store for £49 and make it yourself.

1

u/Hot_Reading7986 14d ago

Are you in the UK? Chipotle highly depends on the location, some are unfortunately Garbo while others hook it up

1

u/KUweatherman 14d ago

Chipotle is turning into a joke.

1

u/Weedsmoker4hunnid20 14d ago

Maybe at your chipotle. I’ve never had a problem at mine and I’ve ordered it 100+ times (online ordering)

1

u/Weedsmoker4hunnid20 14d ago

? A bowl is $10 if you don’t get any extras

1

u/Megalo85 14d ago

Why are people still paying for this? Either keep paying and don’t complain cause you’re a corporate bitch or just don’t buy it.

1

u/HeyWiredyyc 14d ago

Sure hope it came with a laxative

1

u/Huntderp 14d ago

Hahahahaha!! Just don’t order from there lmaooo.

1

u/JamuelSnackson 14d ago

You ordered wrong

1

u/Severe_Airport1426 14d ago

Before or after you ate it?

1

u/Pabst_Malone 14d ago

Why was I mildly shocked to learn the UK has Cheepoltey?

1

u/DID_IT_FOR_YOU 14d ago

This is why I switched where I pick up chipotle from. One store would about half the time give me way less than a normal portion. The store I switched to ALWAYS gives me a normal portion & has never shortchanged me. I bet they have a different franchise owner.

I NEVER order delivery from chipotle because it’s not reliable. I’m pretty sure it’s because the app defaults to the closest store, which is the shitty one.

1

u/imFromFLiAmSrryLuL 14d ago

Breh your the problem you ain’t get half the stuff

1

u/Terrible_Access9393 14d ago

You got FUCKED.

1

u/Write-or-Wrong_ 14d ago

Hell nah 👀

1

u/MacaroonMiddle7229 14d ago

Dang. The 3 chipotles near my house always fill up the bowls and it’s like $8.65 w/ tax for chicken.

1

u/Unusual_Address_3062 14d ago

You got ripped off. In America thats much less money and more food is in the bowl.

1

u/iRambL 14d ago

Its why I never order mobile from there anymore.

1

u/cosmicfungi37 14d ago

Why do people bother going there. It’s never been good.

1

u/badgerhustler 14d ago

I do not understand why this brand exists.

1

u/BoSocks91 14d ago

Must be a shit Chipotle then because my bowls are always loaded.

1

u/jakdebbie 14d ago

The one by my house is online order only. Chipotle is garbage

1

u/Peachypiekewp 14d ago

Chipotle has always been diarrhea in a container but at least it was full back in the day

1

u/TowerTrash 14d ago

Chipotle is the most hit-or-miss place I know of. Luckily, the one by my house is usually great. They pack their bowls to the top of the lid and rarely make mistakes.

1

u/rbartlejr 14d ago

When did Chipotle start making spaghetti?

1

u/PhoKingAwesome213 14d ago

This is the only place I never order on the app. I've walked on 2 occasions when they were stingy with the meat or the corn.

1

u/ServantOfKarma 14d ago

Could have made better, cheaper shit at home.

1

u/RegularTemporary2707 14d ago

Wait i thought you already ate them thats why the look so empty

1

u/throwawaynonsesne 14d ago

The real tragedy is not getting the tortilla.

1

u/cameron4200 14d ago

That’s why I go inside and make them look me in the eye with that half scoop bullshit

1

u/lee_templeton 14d ago

just ordered from them tonight and ours basically looked the same and they also forgot our chips😒

1

u/laynslay 14d ago

I mean, as someone who worked at Chipotle in their golden years, I wouldn't go to chipotle now. We used to run it like it was a 5 star restaurant. It is nowhere near good anymore. I worked at the second busiest store in the northeast. Corporate has run it into the ground. I wouldn't touch chipotle now. It sucks, because we really did put a lot into our job back then but there's really no need to support chipotle anymore. You'd be better off at literally any other place if you want "Mexican" food. I don't how else to put that, I know chipotle isn't really true Mexican food.

1

u/onlyhav 14d ago

Find a local Hispanic resteraunt. Tons copied Chipotle and are still throwing full bowls for a better price than Chipotle.

1

u/werdmouf 14d ago

At a certain point, it's your fault for still going there.

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Air7039 14d ago

That's just unfortunate. Sorry for the bad luck. Makes me uneasy about when the chipotles by me are gonna start scrimping.

1

u/s1nd3vil 14d ago

I used to love chipotle but the cost was killing me. Now I make my own burrito bowls at home. Doesn’t have quite the same kick but the savings alone makes it taste better.

1

u/dshotseattle 14d ago

Stop getting their food. This has become all too common

1

u/Feisty-Albatross-462 14d ago

Whoa, you saying that mexican food in Britain is a shit-show? Chipotle in the states sucks ass too, but this is where you need to stick up for yourselves. The reason I wouldn't let this shit stand is sort of the same reason y'all lost the revolution. Food for thought

1

1

u/Massive_Bit2703 14d ago

I'm sorry. I know this sucks. This is the exact reason why I stopped eating at Chipotle.

Yup this is just one of the MANY reasons I haven’t been to a chipotle in a long time even though I enjoy the food. Cant and won’t go back, always leave fuming lol

Keep ordering takeout and getting disappointed until you decide to cook the exact same dish at home. You will never order again.

I live in the hyperexpensive Bay Area, but for some reason they always fill those fuckers to the brim here - online order or not

There's Chipotle in the UK? I've never seen one.

It’s insane the drop in quality in what you get nowadays from Chipotle vs when it first became popular

This comment section is wild. When I visited the US maybe 6-7 years ago, Chipotle was THE place to grab a nice reasonable cheap and BIG meal. I swear a monster burrito was like $10?

Times have changed so badly for most food outlets.

Those look like online orders.

Speaking from experience. Managers tell their young employees to quickly dispatch online orders as fast as possible regardless of ratio of food.

There is a massive disparity between in-person and online orders at certain fast food places. Chipotle being one of the worst.

Am I the only one mildly infuriated that OP didn't rotate the pic before posting? :)

All major corporations are abusing the customer and providing less and less, for higher and higher costs

I really think we need a huuuuge monopoly and trust busting period because this is getting out of control.

I thought these were leftovers at first glance

Why'd they put your 1 order in 4 bowls?
