I’ve heard this happening a lot with doordash. I can only assume it’s because

1) the paying customer isn’t there to complain, and many won’t go through the hassle of getting it fixed or replaced, and

2) if it’s close to closing time, the employees might give you less portions so that they don’t have to make more food

I’ve had similar experiences with Doordash orders. Having worked in the restaurant industry during a challenging time in my life, I try to be understanding. However, my patience wears thin when the same issues keep happening at the same restaurant. My initial reaction is to complain to the restaurant. Once, while waiting for my corrected order, I had a conversation with the manager, who suggested that for future issues, I should complain directly to Doordash since they handle refunds and some corrections. I understood his point; I could have complained to both Doordash and the restaurant and potentially received double compensation. In this specific instance, I discovered that Doordash hadn’t communicated my order details properly to the restaurant. They didn’t mention that I didn’t want bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, or bell peppers in my chicken panang, even though these ingredients are standard in the dish. Usually, I pick them out and move on, but after this happened several times, I decided to speak up. Apparently, I ordered electronically through Doordash, and then they call the restaurant to place the final order over the phone. This is how orders are handled at small mom-and-pop restaurants. Stuff gets lost the process.

I did doordash for a bit for extra money and I picked up chipotle every time I delivered, it always was lukewarm even though I'd pick it up within minutes. 25 years ago it was THE goto for Mission style burritos and tacos and it was dirt cheap for massive portions

I mean, as someone who worked at Chipotle in their golden years, I wouldn't go to chipotle now. We used to run it like it was a 5 star restaurant. It is nowhere near good anymore. I worked at the second busiest store in the northeast. Corporate has run it into the ground. I wouldn't touch chipotle now. It sucks, because we really did put a lot into our job back then but there's really no need to support chipotle anymore. You'd be better off at literally any other place if you want "Mexican" food.
