Just go to a real Mexican place, they fill up the plates
24
u/CowboyAirman 14d ago
Looks like they’re in England, so likely not a lot of solid options.
→ More replies (8)1
u/mj561256 14d ago
Idk about where they are but at least in my area there's plenty of Mexican options
One near me even offers bowls like this for £8 each that seems to be similar/slightly bigger in portion size than the OP image
Ik some people don't necessarily consider this Mexican but Taco Bell here does some solid deals on the delivery apps too, much cheaper than going in person especially with a big order

u/postvolta 13d ago
I've not found a proper Mexican place here, not in the same way we have proper Indians/Chinese/Thai etc.
Like sure there's a burrito place or a taco place, but I want a proper Mexican place. I don't even mind if they're Anglicised like the Indians we have, but they're usually just kinda bland.
Best Mexican place I ever ate at was a place in Sedona, Arizona.

10 dollar enchilada plate with tons of cheese, meat, rice and refried beans and salad 😋 😋😋😋

Never order online for chipotle. You get so so much more food when you are there and it will be more consistently right
35
u/John271095 14d ago
Bunch of their locations around my area became online only.
→ More replies (3)31
u/greedylime 14d ago
??? You literally can't walk in and order?
→ More replies (1)24
u/John271095 14d ago
Nope. There’s a sign that says you have to download their app and order from there.

u/greedylime 14d ago
Maybe it's just me getting older (44), but fuck that.

u/ShadeColdfang 14d ago
in my town we have multiple Pizza shops... one is/was online only.
This shop closed quicker than it opened.
i rather go into it and order my Pizza that way and walk back home.
at least i then can sit outside and enjoy my pizza that way or back home.
so yea i feel you2
u/AppUnwrapper1 14d ago
I walked into a Starbucks the other day and it had no cash register. It was pick-up orders only. Thankfully I just wanted water and they gave it to me.

Yeah you can badger them to add more. As long as it’s not extra meat or Guacamole they will usually oblige without extra cost

u/CallMeDucc 14d ago
i place an online order roughly 20 minutes after they open for that reason. every time i order that way its actually better than walking in at my location

Where I live burger king is actually fairly decent. It's a noticeable step above McDonald's while still being less good than a proper burger restaurant. But it's only like 1-3€/order more expensive than McDonald's from my experience.

**door dashing chipotle is a disappointment every time.
Order in person and it’s normally good
36
u/VividCheesecake69 14d ago
It's the McDonald's of Mexican food
→ More replies (2)3
u/LeoDiCatmeow 14d ago
That's insulting to McDonald's tbh. Chipotle is fucking garbage and pretends to be healthy
→ More replies (3)2
u/Valturia 14d ago
McDonald's is at least consistent, with portion size at chipotle is a hit or miss

I’m surprised to see all of the chipotle hate here. Every time I’ve been it’s been solid. I guess I’m just lucky enough to have a good store where I live

Yeah, Chipotle is the most varied by location out of all fast food chains in my experience. Some are great, some are food poisoning lol

I mean, it's Chipotle, the same place that spreads salmonella. You basically went to the panera bread of Taco Bell.

50 bucks for that? and its not even what u ordered?
This doesnt even look close that what u can make yourself for 50 bucks.
all the 4 trays are enough for 1 or 2 people.
This is one of the reasons why i gladly sit hours in my kitchen to make myself awesome food

Honestly, we stopped getting takeout. Family of 4, over $100 when we do. Plus tip. And the quality of food sucks lately.

u/moredrinksplease 14d ago
I mean I didn’t know chipotle had made it to UK but god damn that looks terrible compared to what the chipotles are serving here in Los Angeles.
2
u/JasonIsFishing 14d ago
You could have made some authentic Mexican recipes for WAY less and had leftovers.
2
u/LeoDiCatmeow 14d ago
Chipotle is shitty and everyone has known this since 2015 when they had their crazy ecoli outbreak. I did doordash for a bit for extra money and I picked up chipotle every time I delivered, it always was lukewarm even though I'd pick it up within minutes. Why anyone wastes money on such a notoriously shit fastfood place is beyond me. Literally you could spend the same amount and have the same meal 3x by just getting the ingredients throwing it all in a bowl and microwaving it for 30 seconds so it's all the same nasty temp, just like at the restaurant

So glad I haven't been to Chipotle in like 7 years. They keep rationing their food and being stingy they deserve to go out of business.

Unless you order online, they literally make it in front of you. If they skimp, ask them to add more. If they refuse, leave.
1
u/EuphoricMaz 14d ago
I feel like a lot of the time they do this because they think you'll just shut up and eat it. First time they skimped me like this, I took the food back to the restaurant and got a full refund. Chipotle isn't cheap😭

u/Chance_Difference_34 14d ago
All imma say is the chipotle drama isn't new, so what did you expect??? I stopped going there because of this crap.

I spent 27 dollars on 2 chicken burritos with guacamole. I don’t know why I thought going back would be a good idea

u/AppUnwrapper1 14d ago
I ate at chipotle once in my life and was so unimpressed. The meal was like 90% rice. I don’t understand why people buy from there.
1
u/bearpics16 14d ago
Chipotle used to be my all time favorite restaurant. I ate there an insane number of times and get the exact same steak burrito every time. The steak quality used to be soooo good. It was cooked perfectly medium every time. It’s been a long time since I’ve had quality steak from them. It’s all over cooked and low quality beef. About 1/3 of the pieces are gristle
1
u/ApolloMac 14d ago
I have my problems with Chipotle. They screw up my order constantly. Like literally every damn time. But.. the bowls are full. Just full with the wrong stuff.
1
u/tjk91 14d ago
Dude chipotle has been getting bad about this. I've never done a delivery service but every time I go which is one every other month I have to constantly tell them to add a little more. Like bro the bottom isnt even half way covered by the rice. Slowly eating there less. I miss qudoba.

u/Massive_Economy_3310 14d ago
First thought was why are you wasting all that food if you spent so much. Then I realized you haven't ate any of the food yet. It is being served like a dirty dish .

u/biloxibluess 14d ago
I’m from Denver proper
The OG Chipotle was in a tiny old Dolly Maddison ice cream parlor next to The University Of Denver on Evans Ave
25 years ago it was THE goto for Mission style burritos and tacos and it was dirt cheap for massive portions
They were always known for consistency and quality across the state at all locations
They got bought by McDonald’s
That’s the rest of the story
1
u/redrover2023 14d ago
If we all boycotted for 1 week. Enough for them to notice, you'll see changes.

u/OnlyBringinGoodVibes 14d ago
It's whack because I've always loved chipotle. These days they are just getting so stingy and shitty I'm over it

u/josh35767 14d ago
It’s a shame. Chipotle use to be pretty great, and then they just went down hill so fast.

Are you in the UK? Chipotle highly depends on the location, some are unfortunately Garbo while others hook it up

u/Weedsmoker4hunnid20 14d ago
Maybe at your chipotle. I’ve never had a problem at mine and I’ve ordered it 100+ times (online ordering)

u/Megalo85 14d ago
Why are people still paying for this? Either keep paying and don’t complain cause you’re a corporate bitch or just don’t buy it.

This is why I switched where I pick up chipotle from. One store would about half the time give me way less than a normal portion. The store I switched to ALWAYS gives me a normal portion & has never shortchanged me. I bet they have a different franchise owner.
I NEVER order delivery from chipotle because it’s not reliable. I’m pretty sure it’s because the app defaults to the closest store, which is the shitty one.

Dang. The 3 chipotles near my house always fill up the bowls and it’s like $8.65 w/ tax for chicken.

u/Unusual_Address_3062 14d ago
You got ripped off. In America thats much less money and more food is in the bowl.

Chipotle is the most hit-or-miss place I know of. Luckily, the one by my house is usually great. They pack their bowls to the top of the lid and rarely make mistakes.

This is the only place I never order on the app. I've walked on 2 occasions when they were stingy with the meat or the corn.

just ordered from them tonight and ours basically looked the same and they also forgot our chips😒
1
u/laynslay 14d ago
I mean, as someone who worked at Chipotle in their golden years, I wouldn't go to chipotle now. We used to run it like it was a 5 star restaurant. It is nowhere near good anymore. I worked at the second busiest store in the northeast. Corporate has run it into the ground. I wouldn't touch chipotle now. It sucks, because we really did put a lot into our job back then but there's really no need to support chipotle anymore. You'd be better off at literally any other place if you want "Mexican" food. I don't how else to put that, I know chipotle isn't really true Mexican food.

1
u/Puzzleheaded_Air7039 14d ago
That's just unfortunate. Sorry for the bad luck. Makes me uneasy about when the chipotles by me are gonna start scrimping.

u/s1nd3vil 14d ago
Some dishes...or plates are not ment to drive around town b4 some one eats them... carry out morons

u/CrispNoods 14d ago
I used to love chipotle but the cost was killing me. Now I make my own burrito bowls at home. Doesn’t have quite the same kick but the savings alone makes it taste better.

u/Feisty-Albatross-462 14d ago
Whoa, you saying that mexican food in Britain is a shit-show? Chipotle in the states sucks ass too, but this is where you need to stick up for yourselves. The reason I wouldn't let this shit stand is sort of the same reason y'all lost the revolution. Food for thought

Keep ordering takeout and getting disappointed until you decide to cook the exact same dish at home. You will never order again.

It’s insane the drop in quality in what you get nowadays from Chipotle vs when it first became popular
1
u/k987654321 13d ago
This comment section is wild. When I visited the US maybe 6-7 years ago, Chipotle was THE place to grab a nice reasonable cheap and BIG meal. I swear a monster burrito was like $10?
Times have changed so badly for most food outlets.
1
u/Han_Hattori_Hanzo 13d ago
Those look like online orders.
Speaking from experience. Managers tell their young employees to quickly dispatch online orders as fast as possible regardless of ratio of food.
There is a massive disparity between in-person and online orders at certain fast food places. Chipotle being one of the worst.

I really think we need a huuuuge monopoly and trust busting period because this is getting out of control.
